Privacy Policy - Old Photo Restore Repair
Effective: June 18, 2025
Thank you for using Old Photo Restore Repair (“the App”, “we”, “us”, “our”)!
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and share information when you use our mobile application to restore old photos.
By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
Information We Collect
To provide and improve our photo restoration services, we collect the following types of information:
- Photos You Provide: When you use the App to restore a photo, you voluntarily upload the image file from your device. This image is sent to our third-party processing service, Replicate, to perform the restoration.
- Restored Photos: The processed (restored) image generated by Replicate is then made available to you through the App.
- Usage Data (Anonymous): We may collect anonymous data about your interaction with the App, such as features used, session duration, crash reports, and device type information (e.g., operating system, device model). This data helps us understand how our App is being used, identify issues, and improve user experience. This data is aggregated and cannot be used to identify you personally.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
- To Provide the Service: Primarily, to process and restore the photos you upload using the AI models hosted on Replicate.
- To Improve the App: To analyze usage patterns, identify popular features, fix bugs, and enhance the overall functionality and user experience of the App.
- To Provide Support: To respond to your inquiries and provide customer support if you contact us.
How We Share Your Information / Third-Party Services
We work with trusted third-party services to provide and improve the App. Your information may be shared with these services only as necessary for them to perform their functions:
- Replicate (Photo Processing): The core functionality of our App relies on Replicate to perform AI-powered photo restoration. When you upload a photo for restoration, it is transmitted to Replicate’s servers for processing. Replicate’s handling of your photos is governed by their own privacy policy and terms of service. We encourage you to review them:
We understand that Replicate may temporarily store images for processing and caching purposes as outlined in their policies. We do not permanently store your original or restored photos on our own servers after processing unless explicitly stated or required for a feature you use.
We do not sell your personal information or photos to third parties.
Data Retention and Deletion
Original and Restored Photos: We do not store your original or restored photos on our servers beyond the temporary processing period required by Replicate and to deliver the restored image back to you via the App. Once the restored image is delivered to your device, it is your responsibility to save it. Please refer to Replicate’s policies for their data retention practices regarding images processed on their platform.
Anonymous Usage Data: Aggregated, anonymous usage data may be retained indefinitely for analytical purposes to help us improve the App.
You can delete photos from your device at any time. If you wish to inquire about data processed by Replicate, you would need to refer to their policies and support channels.
Data Security
We implement reasonable security measures to protect the information we handle. This includes using HTTPS for data transmission. However, please understand that no security system is completely impenetrable. While we strive to protect your data, particularly the photos you entrust to us during transit and processing by Replicate, we cannot guarantee its absolute security. Data transmission over the internet and processing by third-party services inherently carries some risk.
Children’s Privacy
Our App is not intended for use by children under the age of 13 (or a higher age if stipulated by local law). We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with personal information or photos, please contact us immediately.
Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have certain rights regarding your personal information, such as the right to access, correct, or delete your data. As we primarily facilitate the processing of your photos through Replicate and do not store them long-term on our servers, requests regarding photos processed by Replicate should be directed to them or managed according to their policies.
Policy Updates
We may update this privacy policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, service providers, or legal requirements. When we make changes, we will post the updated policy here with a new effective date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically for any updates.
